Based on a true story, The Soloist is about a schizophrenic homeless man named Nathaniel Ayers (Jamie Foxx) who is actually a musical prodigy that’s discovered on the streets by LA Times journalist Steve Lopez (Robert Downey Jr.) The first full trailer for Joe Wright’s (Pride & Prejudice, Atonement) film has debuted. Could Downey or Foxx get an acting nomination of some kind? To me it gives off a Pursuit of Happyness, but you can be the judge.
