Cruise is going to Wichita

Tom Cruise is gearing towards the 20th Century Fox action-comedy Wichita, reports Variety.

He’ll be paired with Cameron Diaz in the James Mangold-directed film. The trade goes on to report that Cruise and Diaz have approved the script, and their deals are in advanced negotiations. Fox is eyeing a summer 2010 release, though no officially date has been set.

Cruise’s character will be that of a secret agent who pops in and out of the life of a single woman.
