Yeah, we all know he’s still John McClane, only the names have been changed to protect the innocent. This Bruce Willis action thriller didn’t make much of a splash while in theaters, but look for Surrogates to do well on Blu-ray (MSRP: $39.99) and DVD (MSRP: $29.99) when it’s released on January 26th, 2010. Directed by Johnathan Mostow, of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and the underrated Breakdown, the film also stars Radha Mitchell, Ving Rhames (finally, Marseilles Wallace catches up with Butch!), James Cromwell and Rosamund Pike.
The film will be presented with an aspect ratio of 2.40:1. In the audio department, the DVD includes English Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, and the Blu-ray has English 5.1 DTS-HD. Bonus features for both the DVD and Blu-ray include director’s commentary and a Breaking Benjamin music video. The Blu-ray also has four deleted scenes and two featurettes (“A More Perfect You: The Science of Surrogates” and “Breaking the Fame: A Graphic Novel Comes to Life”).
