Pixar’s New Short Film: Unidentified Flying Mater
By Travis Leamons - November 23, 2009 | Email the author

In a surprising move Pixar debuted a new short film, not in front of a feature film but on the Disney Channel on November 20th, 2009. Check out the embedded video inside.

Pixar co-founder and director John Lasseter, of Toy Story 1 & 2, A Bug’s Life and Cars, directed this latest short and it’s the fifth in a series of Cars short films. This one’s titled Unidentified Flying Mater.

What’s it about?: Mater tells the gang a tall tale about the time him and a UFO named “Mator” had a fun night out. Then the military spoils the fun and it’s up to Mator, Lightning McQueen and Mator’s mom to save the day!

  1. Unidentified Flying Mater is so Funny – I love Mater in his German Doctor Custom and the Tractor Tipping sequence is awesome.
I do think though that the Disney Cars Toon short , Tokyo Mater was better and hopefully the next short in line Heavy Metal Mater would be longer and even more entertaining .
