It’s by no means anything new or surprising, but lately I’ve thinking about the number for musicians that have given up the glitz and glam of rock n’ roll to become film composers. There have been many musicians who have dabbled in score composing, doing one or two films over the years. Neil Young provided [...]

America’s two favorite past times: Baseball and Movies. They go together like apple pie and grandma. So naturally, there have been a lot of movies made over the years about baseball. Here’s the prototypical “five you need to see” to get amped for the coming year.

It’s a known fact that comic books are taking over the film industry. It seems hardly a month or two can go by without another one hitting the big screen. And not all of them are as obvious as Spider-Man or Batman. Ghost World, Road To Perdition and Wanted all started out as drawing on the printed page. With the huge explosion of adaptation, there are still several titles I would love to see on the big screen or in some cases as TV Shows. Here are five of them.

With the incredible success of last year’s The Dark Knight and the highly disappointing reception for Superman Returns, Warner Bros. has recently announced that from now on their superhero movies will be darker and grittier in nature. Now as a comic book fan I completely agree with these arguments, but as a poor writer trying to get his way through graduate school, I also see a way to make a buck, and in the end hunger wins out over integrity. So, Warner Bros., pay attention, because here are my top ten pitches for DC movies

“Oh Steve Martin, why? Why?” I screamed when I saw the first Pink Panther 2 ad. With recent films like Pink Panther, Cheaper By The Dozen (and its sequel) and Bringing Down The House it becomes quite easy to forget that Steve Martin, who has acted in 39 films since 1978, is, um, used to be a comic genius.

It’s all fun and good to spout off about the best films of a year, but sometimes it’s even more fun to rant about the really crappy ones! I’m not calling this list the Worst films of 2008 cause frankly there are many I haven’t seen. For example, I avoided The House Bunny and The Hottie & The Nottie like the plague. Well of the films I did see in 2008, here are the 10 worst. You can call this list: Movies NOT to add to your netflix queue.

As is common around this time, people begin to look to the future. We make resolutions, vow not to repeat the mistakes of last year, and dream about what tomorrow will bring. Humanity has made incredible leaps in technology and the future promises even more advances. However, as wonderful as those advances may seem, they’re bound to bring about new problems for us to deal with.

A great director can make a great film. A great actor can deliver a great performance. But when you combine the best of both worlds you sometimes find an artistic combination that delivers not just one, but multiple films that are some of the best ever made. Here are the top ten Director/Actor teams. 1 [...]

So how exactly does one go from a rapping white boy with a silly name to an Academy Award nominated actor? Let’s find out shall we?

Hello, kiddies.

Halloween. A day of tricks and treats. Little kids scavenging for chocolate. Bigger kids throwing eggs and wrapping trees in toilet paper. Such a wonderful day. And while you can never be too old to dress up as your favorite character, it’s a good day to enjoy a good scare in the comfort of your own living room. Five here at the Lounge gave their right arms to create a list of 20 films that make for a ghoulish good time.

"Hey Scott, long time reader from the Netcop/Wrestleline days (although EVERYONE puts that). Thought that since everyone is into top 10 lists these days, you’d be interested in doing a different one. In your humble (ha) opinion, how would you rank Friends by season? Believe it or not, I’m even requesting this opinion without the [...]

Sometimes in a movie you come across a character that you just want to slap. It could be intentional, as in an actor who actively tries to be annoying for plot purposes, but most of the time it’s because you run across a character who does something incredibly stupid or just acts like a whiney [...]

With football season in full effect, it’s time for the Lounge List staff to spend halftime waiting in the beer line and naming their favorite old gridiron stars who ran to the silver screen. It would be so easy to name football players that played football players or themselves. We went for those who dared [...]
