Neil Diamond, the Cree filmmaker not the singer, has put together a really fascinating look at Native Americans and how they influenced Hollywood — and how Hollywood influenced them.
Reel Injun uses interviews and archive footage to take a peak behind some of the most prevalent myths and legends that have sprung from America’s cinematic fascination [...]

What makes this boxset amazing is watching Clint Eastwood blossom as an icon while working with Mister Ed. The talking horse truly changed his life.

The Jason Reitman drama leads all films with six nominations.

So it’s a box set touting the 35-year relationship Eastwood has had with Warner Bros. It says 35 films, and yet the box set only contains 34 by Eastwood. How does that work?

Invictus isn’t even finished editing and already Clint Eastwood is nearing completion on casting his next feature!

Apple debuts what Warner Brothers is hoping is 2009’s Best Picture.

Who would imagine that the star of Dirty Harry was a fan of Broadway show tunes? Clint Eastwood wants us to share his passion for the music of Johnny Mercer, the man behind the music on Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Johnny Mercer: The Dream’s On Me is a documentary produced by Clint and coming out on DVD this Nov. 3. Here’s the press release from Warner Home Video:

There have been many great teacher-student relationships in cinematic lore. The most famous may have been Pat Morita teaching Ralph Macchio the crane kick in The Karate Kid, but one of the more interesting ones lately has been Walt (Clint Eastwood) teaching Hmong teenager Thao (Bee Vang) the ways of manliness and construction in Gran Torino.

I’ve always found "based on a true story" to be an odd phrase, as normally things are either true or false, whereas it is a uniquely Hollywood proposition to proclaim something as factual while still fudging details to make it more entertaining. Even stranger to do so when the true stories in question are sometimes more unlikely than anything that the overworked screenwriters could have thought of.

It’s a known fact that comic books are taking over the film industry. It seems hardly a month or two can go by without another one hitting the big screen. And not all of them are as obvious as Spider-Man or Batman. Ghost World, Road To Perdition and Wanted all started out as drawing on the printed page. With the huge explosion of adaptation, there are still several titles I would love to see on the big screen or in some cases as TV Shows. Here are five of them.

Clint Eastwood gives a stellar performance as only he can

While the media focuses on Oscar chances for Clint Eastwood’s grizzled old man in Gran Torino, Rawhide: The Third Season, Volume 2 takes us to the TV start of the cinema star’s career. A half century ago there was youth to his rugged face. Clint had a bit grizzle growth during these early days on the plain. His Rowdy Yates character wasn’t happy camper riding the range behind the cows. As part of a drover crew run by Gil Favor (Eric Fleming), Rowdy is the rough and tumble young ramrod. He won’t back down till given the order. Rawhide is the education of an icon.

Rare misfire from one of Hollywood’s legendary directors

Truly a miracle or just mediocre?

The first release is to be The Films of Budd Boetticher Box Set on November 4…

Even before The Dark Knight wowed audiences, there was talk of a new film by Clint Eastwood. Considering his track record over the years, it was evident that the Oscar machine was in overdrive trying to generate some early buzz. Starring Angelina Jolie, Burn Notice’s Jeffrey Donovan, John Malkovich and Colm Feore, Changeling is a [...]

When it comes to love stories, it’s always amusing to see how Hollywood handles it. When a man cheats on his wife, he’s always the villain in some paint by numbers romantic comedy. He’s always a jerk and a bad person who doesn’t deserve whatever starlet is inserted into the story. When a woman cheats on her husband, it’s usually as part of some love story and is somehow completely and totally justified. The best example of this phenomena is The Bridges of Madison County.
